Kari grunted. Her head throbbed from the long class she had just gone through. It wasn't the subject, Math that had made her head hurt. It was the teacher. She remembered his stupid swirly glasses, thick ruddy mustache, and heavy German accent. And Kari couldn't let the tiny suspicion go that he was watching her the whole time. When she asked for the bathroom, he would say no. And not just any, he would scream no as if she was asking to kill him. And hell, she was tempted. The constant training she did had recently made her more prone to violence. Kari one, who currently inhabited her body, didn't have the guts. But, Kari two always jumped to conclusions. Recently, Kari two hadn't been coming out much. 'Thank god for that.' Kari realized she had said that too loud and was met with the stares of people around her. Kari was use to these weird looks. She just accepted them now since they didn't do much harm. But honestly, deep down inside, she was sad she couldn't befriend any of these people or tell them her problems. It was like being locked up, yet free. It was the hardest feeling to explain. Kari entered the cafeteria and sat down at single table. She bought out her lunch from her bag and began eating quietly. It was a very empty feeling inside. 'Well Kari, I see the teacher didn't like you either. Kari didn't have to look up to know who this was. 'Hello Jayden.''Kari. You're as quiet as ever.''At least I don't talk, every damn minute.''I don't talk that much.''Don't even get me started.'Jayden glared at Kari and Kari finally raised her head from her meal. Jayden was wearing a flamboyant outfit, with feathers and sparkles. Her face was covered in too much makeup and her hair was tied in two buns. 'Observing my fashion.'If by fashion you mean that weird flamingo shit you're wearing...well yeah.'Jayden growled for a second, and then a smile shone through. 'Hope you enjoy your soup.'Kari raised an eyebrow and spooned a scoop of her soup. In her spoon wasn't just her red sauce soup, but a spider. Kari screamed and jumped from the table as Jayden laughed. She was joined by the rest of the cafeteria. Kari realized the spider had been fake as she saw it lay motionless. And, in full embarrassment, she sat on the flour, covered in the soup from her spoon, being laughed at. [/ul]

Ryosuke had found that his sense of justice had improved since joining the mafia. He wasn't quite sure of what it was that changed his worldview, wasn't sure when exactly his turning point was, but it became more apparent to himself and to others that he would no longer stand idly by as others unneededly suffered. Especially bullying. He couldn't help but think of it as the gateway to being an evil mafioso, even though that seemed far-fetched and outlandish. But, he always thought of the enemies he had faced so far as bullies with major power-ups. They all belittled him, tried to kill him. They were major roadblocks that he had to conquer in order to improve himself as a better person. He liked that about fighting, it strengthened his moral code. Of course, he didn't like how he would always win just by a little, or with the help of others, but maybe that was what it took to make him realize he couldn't be selfish all the time.
But, old habits die hard, as the saying goes. He was still impulsive, the quickest to take the worst risks. It was his job to be the flying daredevil of Namimori. Ryosuke might be more considerate about other people, but when it came to himself, he would push his body to its limits and beyond. He would do the heroic deeds no on else had the guts to do. He would watch the worst mistakes and learn from them. He would say the unsaid, things others were too afraid to say. It went without saying this could go to a certain level of self-hate. Though one might think his little voice would go away with his new degree of consideration, it wasn't the case. It was there to question his every move and decision, causing him to doubt himself.
Ryosuke was finding it particularly hard to stand out against bullying. It was a epidemic in Japan, and it was only getting worse. He felt as if it was his responsibility as a popular teen to speak out against it, to change the world. But he was always afraid. Maybe, he might stand up for someone, but rarely ever in front of a large crowd. He found this being particularly tested at lunch this day, as if God had decided it was time for a tribulation.
It started as an argument, not a very loud one. But Ryosuke could feel the tension build around two girls. Jayden was well-known for her extravagant outfits. He kind of liked that about her. She didn't have a fear of showing herself off. She seemed to be teasing the pink-haired girl in his class. What was her name? Carrie? Mari? Kari, he thought it was, or something like that. He made an effort to remember his classmates' names, but some slipped his mind, especially the introverted ones like her. He vaguely wondered why Jayden would choose her of all people to tease.
It ended with a sudden scream and laughter. Ryosuke had tried to ignore the scene, instead focusing on his food. But it was hard. He felt an urge, a sudden itch, rising like a fever. It was an urge to stand to Kari's aid. To rebuke Jayden. But it was beat down by embarrassment. He might be a crime-fighting mafioso, but he was still a highschool boy, self-conscious and horribly self-centered. He couldn't put his reputation on the line for a girl he barely knew. But, he could diffuse the growing tension. He was always good at that.
Rising from his seat, he all but pranced to the scene. "Ahh, ladies, fighting over me again? " he said loudly in his most charismatic voice that caused girls to swoon. " I'm sorry, Jayden, but Kari here gets me on Wednesdays. You'll have to wait your turn. We all know how anxious you get when it comes to me." He smiled at the ridiculously dressed girl, half-teasing and half-mocking, then turned his attention to the girl seated on the floor, offering his hand with a grand bow. " Need some help, milady?" The smile he gave her was sympathetic and genuine, though he made sure only she could see it.[/blockquote]
