Depending on your character, a rank will be given. You may not choose your rank. It will be assigned to you by the staff member who approves of your application.
The ranks are as follows :
S-CLASS The highest rank, only who have reached the maximum potential can be marked with this rank. You must have a vast amount of experience and prove yourself as a roleplayer through your character to qualify as this rank. amount of experience points : ten thousand exam : required[/blockquote] A-CLASS Second only to the S-Class members, the members of his rank are still very strong, having proved themselves through the prior ranks. Characters in this rank are not to be trifled with, as they have been through hell and back, yet still can improve. The A-Class is divided into sub-classes that consist of A-3 Class, A-2 Class, and A-1 Class from ascending to descending order, A-3 Class being the final step from A-Class to S-Class amount of experience points : A-3 Class : seven thousand and five hundred A-2 Class : six thousand and five hundred A-1 Class : six thousand exam : required for rank A-1[/blockquote] B-CLASS Still a fairly high class, this rank is represented by an elite group of mafioso. The characters of this class are expert, very skilled in their jobs. They are capable of taking on some of the most dangerous missions. They are those who have proven themselves through their own trials and error. The B-Class is divided into sub-classes that consist of B-3 Class, B-2 Class, and B-1 Class from ascending to descending order, B-3 Class being the final step from B-Class to A-Class. amount of experience points : B-3 Class : five thousand B-2 Class : four thousand and five hundred B-1 Class : four thousand exam : required for rank B-1[/blockquote] C-CLASS The C-Class consists of most of the mafia world. This is usually the highest class you can obtain upon first being accepted. This class consists of a great deal of mafioso who are just above average. They are respectable, yet have a long way to go. The C-Class is divided into sub-classes that consist of C-3 Class, C-2 Class, and C-1 Class from ascending to descending order, C-3 Class being the final step from C-Class to D-Class amount of experience points : C-3 Class : three thousand C-2 Class : two thousand C-1 Class : one thousand and five hundred exam : required for rank C-1[/blockquote] D-CLASS The D-Class is filled with individuals of average prowess. Not particularly special, they are the second largest class, but strength does come in numbers, after all. Those in this class are fairly powerful, and have the potential to rise in rank. The D-Class is divided into sub-classes that consist of the D-2 Class and D-1 Class from ascending to descending order, D-2 Class being the final step from D-Class to C-Class amount of experience points : D-2 Class : one thousand, two hundred, and fifty D-1 Class : one thousand exam : required for rank D-1[/blockquote] E-CLASS The lowest rank, the majority of this rank are new on the mafia scene. They have little authority over anyone and are usually at the mercy of their superiors. Being a member of E-Class means you have much to learn, but the only direction you can go is up. amount of experience points : five hundred exam : not required [/blockquote]

As you can see from the character application, you have stat points, the allotment of which depends on your character. These statistics will not change; however, your rank will. To go about this, your character will gain experience points. You can gain experience points through two ways : combat and bounties.
Combat can be divided into two different types of fights. There is the combat in which you battle seriously - the death match. In this type of combat, you will gain, at the least, seventy-five experience points upon completion, no matter the outcome. The winning party would win an additional fifteen points. If a draw were to occur, neither party would win additional points. Experience points are only awarded upon the thread's completion. If the thread is never concluded, then it is considered null and void with no experience points gained. Additional experience points are gained depending on the length of the battle. Anything to fifteen posts is the minimum, meaning you would gain ten points upon completion. Every additional ten posts is ten more experience points. Most circumstances will not affect the amount of experience gained, whether it be two versus one or a C-Class against an A-Class. However, if a staff member decides that a party deserves a bonus, then it will be given accordingly. Bonuses may depend upon roleplaying quality, creativity, and use of advantages and resources.
There will be times in which a staff member will decide to roleplay as an NPC and hop into a pre-existing thread. The participants in the thread will be notified beforehand and have the choice of not doing it. Experience points will be gained upon completion, similar to how the death match points are awarded. If the battle is less than fifteen posts, seventy-five points will be awarded. Every additional ten posts is awarded with ten more points. If the characters, not including the NPC, win, they will receive fifteen points. If the NPC manages to win, no points will be awarded. Don't worry, NPCs will not kill. No matter the outcome, a staff member may decide that additional experience points are deserved. Bonuses may depend upon roleplaying quality, creativity, and use of advantages and resources.
The second type of combat is sparring. Sparring is usually between two friendly parties for the sole purpose of sharpening combat skills. Once again, at the least, seventy-five experience points will be awarded upon completion of the thread. Any threads less than fifteen posts will receive this minimum. Every additional ten posts will earn ten experience points. But, no matter what the outcome, additional points will not be awarded to the winner. However, staff members moderating the spar are more inclined to give out bonus experience points than in the death match. Again, they will depend on roleplaying quality, creativity, and use of advantages and resources. Also, staff members may decide that your character is worthy of learning a new skill if your character has trained hard enough. This is defined by roleplaying quality and quantity. Of course, you don't have to immediately take advantage of your new special attack, but it will be there for you to fill. Before you officially obtain it, though, you must create a thread in which only you will be a part of, merely physically recording the moment your character perfects the special attack.
Another way to gain experience points is through the bounty system. Any character involved in the mafia may take on a bounty, though there will be specific limitations unique to each bounty. A staff member will roleplay as an NPC, and those who accept the bounty will try to fulfill the contract's instructions, whether it be to totally annihilate the subject or locate and capture. The amount of experience points for each contract will be specified in the post. Again, staff members may award bonus experience points depending on roleplaying quality, creativity, and use of advantages and resources. Please note that this is a highly competitive way to receive experience points. Your character will compete with others to fulfill the requirements of the contract, and may the best assassin win.
When you complete a thread in which there is a fight, notify a staff member with the link to your thread. In most cases, a staff member will already be moderating your fight. But to make sure it officially ends, PM a staff member, preferably Sky or Cecoil, with the link to your thread. The staff member will then tally up your experience points and add them onto your respective profiles. You will be notified when you go up in rank and are eligible for an exam; however, you are encouraged to keep track of your character's experience points as well in case a staff member makes a mistake.
To prevent characters from shooting up the ranks with little resistance, exams will be held. It will be similar to a bounty in which your character is given an objective and you must fulfill it. It is not only graded on completion but also on quality and creativity. Be mindful that the objectives may not always be combat-oriented. No experience points are gained from completing an exam. There is no penalty for failing an exam. However, there is a week waiting period in which you cannot apply for another exam.
